Villa Kivi Residency has three rooms in the side building of the Villa Kivi estate. Aleksis and Eino are used for longer-term residence and the third room, Edith, is reserved for writers and members of the literary community visiting Helsinki for short-term accommodation (1-7 days, check-in after 3 PM, check-out before 11 AM).
Edith Södergran (1892-1923) is the internationally best known and most researched Finnish poet. She was a lyrical innovator of her time and a pioneer of Nordic modernism. Södergran was born in St Petersburg, but her roots were in both Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia and the Turku archipelago. Södergran, who wrote her works in her mother tongue Swedish, the other official language of Finland, died of tuberculosis at the young age of 31. She lived most of her life in Raivola, Karelia.

Villa Kivi Residency has three rooms in the side building of the Villa Kivi estate. Aleksis and Eino are used for longer-term residence and the third room, Edith, is reserved for writers and members of the literary community visiting Helsinki for short-term accommodation.
The room measures 14.5 m² and has two separate beds, a desk and a chair, a wardrobe and an armchair. Bed linen and towels are included in the fee.
There is also a kitchen and a small bathroom shared with other guests. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave oven, toaster and most common kitchen utensils and tableware. Please note that no pets are allowed.
In order to be eligible for accommodation at Villa Kivi Residency, you must be a professional author, writer, translator, comic book artist, publisher, etc. To apply for Edith, send a free form application by e-mail to residenssi@villakivi.com. No work plan or project is required for accommodation in Edith.
Edith accommodates one or two persons. Tell us whether you plan to come alone or with a companion. The rate for accommodation in Edith is:
- One person 70 € / night for a 1-2 nights stay
- One person 55 € / night for a 3-7 nights stay
- Two persons 80 € / night for a 1-2 nights stay
- Two persons 65 € / night for a 3-7 nights stay
